You have knowledge and abilities that can help other people. You can use these to help other people and earn money online.
By offering your experience, knowledge and skills to other people you are helping them and you can profit in many ways.
Often, people do not think of themselves as having something to offer. This is wrong. The Internet connects you to the world, and to conclude that you have nothing to offer anyone in the entire world is just plain wrong.
You may not be at the top of your field. You may not be the most successful. But being at the top and being the most successful is no longer a prerequisite to sharing what you know with other people for the purpose of helping them.
Sometimes, the best teachers are the ones who are only a little further ahead of their students, because they themselves are immersed in the learning and are far more connected to the quality of the experience of those who are behind them. This was certainly the case when I went through University – many of my best lessons were from the tutors, not the lecturers.
My hack at a short story!
Imagine gathering a group of people (a village) together of different ages and different abilities. Some are extremely fit and others are unwell. This group of people have to climb a mountain face.
The group starts out together, but soon segments. The super-fit and experienced rush ahead and lead the way. Some of these hero’s fall to their death. The group just behind the leaders are struggling to keep up – they don’t want to lose sight of the leaders and they want to watch their every step.
There is a middle group, and they’ve realised that they’re just not going to keep up with the leaders. Does this mean that they should give up? Should they just sit down? Stupid question right…
The middle group is also segmented. There is a leading middle group, a middle middle group and a lagging middle group. Who do the lagging middle group look to for direction? The leading middle group is further ahead than they are, and can help them. The leading middle group had to discover alternative routes in comparison to the super-fit experienced leading group because they didn’t see where they went, or just couldn’t navigate the same route.
And who is better able to help the stragglers? And what of the unwell? What of the slowest group? They matter. Who is going to show them how? Who is going to take their hand?
Imagine this ridiculous situation.
Someone at the lead of the middle group looks to the person behind them who has their hand out and is in need of help. Instead of offering to help, the leader says, “I’m sorry…I’m not worthy. I can’t help you. I’m not one of the front leaders. They’re they ones you should be looking to, not me.” And the person who needs help says, “But they’re not here – you are, and I need your help. Please help me. Show me how to get where you are.”
OK – enough with the analogy. We can’t progress any further until you realise that you have something to offer. You just have to find out what it is, and then you have to find people who you can help. And that’s what become the main focus of this blog. How to leverage your skills and knowledge online by helping other people.
Interview You.
So, I’ve put together another report. It’s called Interview You. It’s a process I developed for myself and that I’ve used to help other people find out what it is they can do online to help other people.
Speakers at internet marketing seminars often suggest that you should look to your own interests as a place to start your online business – or at least your market research. But they rarely take it any further than this. I speak to many people who still really struggle with ‘making a start’. Many think that they have nothing to offer – or only limited offerings.
